David Lloyd dry refurbishment

Workscope:

UK Diveworks were initially instructed to complete tile repairs to the pool tank within David Lloyd Woking. Upon our attendance, it was evident that previous contractors had laid a further layer of mosaic tiles over the existing tiles. Debonding of the second layer of tiles was assessed and deemed to be defective throughout the pool tank.

After consultation with the client, it was deemed that a full strip out of the pool tank, re-tanking of the pool shell and new tile installation was required. Along side these works, it was agreed that all fixtures and fittings were removed and replaced. This included the underwater lighting, the front face plates of the skimmer boxes, stainless steel over cover installation to the deck level boxes and new grillage to the inlets.

David Lloyd pride themselves on customer service, so we were targeted to complete the entire work scope within 6 weeks.

We set to work straight away and our refurbishment team were on site within three days. The strip out began straight away. During the strip out our project management team were able to source the materials required and have them delivered to site within three working days. Specific tile designs were selected by the client and within 14 days were delivered from Italy to site.

Works completed within this refurbishment included:

• Full regulatory paperwork package production and submission
• Full strip out of 2 layers of tiling (mosaic)
• Full surface preparation to remove high spots and existing tile adhesives
• Full waterproof tanking system installation to all surfaces within the pool tank
• Mosaic tile installation to the pool walls and down to the finish of the pool wall curvatures
• Large format tile installation to the pool floor
• Light bezel change out
• Light module change out and electrical connections made
• Skimmer front face plate change out
• Deck box stainless steel over cover installation
• Grille installation

Works were completed on time and within budget and the pool was handed back to the client for re-fill, re-heat, bacterial assessment and chemical dosing.
